The invention relates to a tool holder for a tool which can rotate about a rotational axis (D), in particular a drilling, milling, reaming or grinding tool. Said tool holder comprises a clamping shaft comprising a clamping arrangement (11; 111), which is arranged in an end-side of the shaft area, provided with a receiving opening (126) which is centric to the rotational axis (D) and which is used to receive a tool handle. Clamping surfaces (18, 20; 118, 120), which are used to maintain a press fit of the maintaining shaft of the tool, are arranged on the peripheral covering of the receiving opening (126). According to the invention, the tool holder (10; 110) comprises at least one actuator body (40; 140) which is made of an electrostrictive material and which is arranged on an longitudinal segment (L) which is axial in relation to the rotational axis (D). Said electrostrictive material alters the longitudinal measurement thereof in at least one spatial direction (AR, RR, UR) by altering an electric potential (B) acting upon the said actuator body. The actuator body (40; 140), which can be impinged upon by an electric potential, is arranged in an axial manner on a longitudinal section (L) in a force transmission behaviour with the tool holder(10; 110), such that the actuator body (40; 140) exerts a force (F) upon the tool holder (10; 110) if the longitudinal measurement thereof alters. |
