The liquid crystal cell areas having different sizes, are formed on bare glass so that longer sides of one of cell area run from left to right direction on bare glass and longer sides of other cell area run from top to bottom direction. The bare glass having array elements, is rubbed in a direction opposite to rubbing direction of another bare glass having color filter. An independent claim is also included for in-plane switching LCD.
