A connector capable of restricting rattling between connector housings in both a fitting direction and a direction orthogonal to the fitting direction, securely preventing both male and female terminals from being worn, and developing stable vibration resistant performance. The male type connector housing (13) comprises an inner housing (25) having a plurality of rattling restricting projected parts (30) energized toward the female type connector housing (36) by a waterproof packing (32) and having tilted surfaces (30a). A tilted surface (41) brought into contact with the tilted surfaces (30a) when the connector housings (13) and (36) are completely fitted to each other is formed on the inner surface of the peripheral wall (39) of the female type connector housing (36). The waterproof packing (32) is held, in a fitted state, between the outer surface of the peripheral wall (28) of the inner housing (25) and the inner surface of the peripheral wall (39) of the female type connector housing (36) when the connector housings (13) and (36) are completely fitted to each other.
