<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an exhaust gas purification catalyst for preventing sintering of noble metals by ceria, and a production method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust gas purification catalyst 10 has a catalyst layer 24 holding the ceria 26 coated with ceria sol, and the noble metals are carried on the ceria 26 and the catalyst layer 24.
