PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein protruded ends of a guide pin may damage the surrounding parts, because if the guide pin and a guide groove is used for a sliding mechanism, both the ends of the guide pin protrude. SOLUTION: An image pickup apparatus is provided with an electronic viewfinder 16 for recognizing the image of an object to be inputted through a lens device 4 housed in an exterior case 5. A finder moving mechanism 160 for making the electronic viewfinder 16 approach near and separate from the accessory shoe is provided. The mechanism 160 has a holder 166 in which side surface pieces are each continued to both ends of a center piece and the cross section is made into a U shape, and a guide groove extending in a direction where the cross section shape continues to the center piece is provided; and a slider 167, housed in the holder and provided with a guide pin 186 housed in the holder and freely slidably engaged with the guide groove.
