PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an pointer type measurement instrument which can improve luminous brightness of a pointer. SOLUTION: The instrument is provided with an indicator plate 3, having a first see-through part 31 and an indicator part 32 formed around the first see-through part 31; a rotating body 5, having a second see-through part 51 corresponding to the first see-through part 31; the pointer 4 fixed to the rotating body 5 and consisting of a light transmissive material moved around the first see-through part 31 along the indicator part 32; a driving device 6 for rotating the rotating body 5 and for moving the pointer 4; a display device 6, disposed behind the indicator plate 3 and for displaying prescribed information for an observer through the first and the second see-through parts 31 and 51; and an illumination means 8 for illuminating the pointer 4 with the light from the back thereof. The illumination means 8 consists of a light guide member 81, provided along the moving route of the pointer 4 and a plurality of light sources 82 for making the light guide member 81 emit the light.
