PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input method and an image input apparatus capable of obtaining image data with high gradation even with a limited memory capacity. SOLUTION: A flowchart for image input processing includes the steps of: measuring a luminous quantity of an object; outputting an entire exposure time required to obtain a bright image from a result of the measurement; dividing the outputted exposure time into a plurality of times on the basis of predetermined number of images; acquiring bright image data by each division time, imaging each dark image on the basis of an outputted division time, and finally subtracting the dark image data from the bright image data to obtain final image data.
