PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a light receiving region for light beams in target objects of various sizes using a standardized harness having light receivers arranged in a band like form. SOLUTION: When a light receiver is arranged on a boundary among a plurality of light receiving regions obtained by dividing the outer periphery of an object, light receiving levels of the light receiver and next light receivers on both sides are taken in to select the one next light receiver having a larger light receiving level as a light receiving regions which has received light when the light receiving level of the light receiver on the boundary is the largest, or to randomly select either of the next light receivers as a light receiving regions which has received light when the light receiving levels of both the next light receivers are equal to each other.
