PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or reduce discoloration during long-term storage of diorganopolysiloxane composition by simple and cost-effective means, regardless of the cause. SOLUTION: To the diorganopolysiloxane composition, a trace amount of a (2-pyridylthio-1-oxide) nonferrous metal salt is added in the presence of an iron compound, or an iron compound present in a filler or the like as impurities to obtain a composition in which iron ions are generated by a discoloration environment during the storage, and the iron ions are allowed to react with (2-pyridylthio-1-oxide) to develop a blue color, which camouflages discoloration.
