SOLUTION: In a base layer constituted of crystal grains having a nearly cylindrical structure and the magnetic recording layer constituted of magnetic crystal grains having a nearly cylindrical structure and a grain boundary layer, a grain diameter Dm in the magnetic recording layer and grain diameter Du in the base layer are made to satisfy the relation of Du×0.8
