PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily producing a titania solution in which crystalline titania and amorphous titania are highly dispersed. SOLUTION: Titanium tetraalkoxide, e.g. TIP, an alcohol, e.g. IPA, and an excessive amount of water vs. TIP are mixed to form anatase-type titania and amorphous titania. The anatase-type titania and the amorphous titania are dissolved in a hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution to obtain a dispersion in which anatase-type titania and amorphous titania are dispersed. By this method, anatase-type titania is easily obtained without heat-treating amorphous titania at a high temperature. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
