<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow reference to commodity data even if a commodity is discontinued, and to allow reference to commodity data on a similar commodity instead of the discontinued commodity. <P>SOLUTION: A commodity information registration management server 104 retrieves commodity data from a commodity DB 107 on the basis of a received commodity CD, and registers them into a commodity information registration management DB 106.
