ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH SERIAL ATA INTERFACE, AND POWER SAVE METHOD OF SERIAL ATA BUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to effectively utilize power save of a serial ATA bus specified by a serial ATA standard.

SOLUTION: An electronic device determines whether it is possible to immediately transmit data which should be transmitted (S4), when the status is changed so that the data should be transmitted to another electronic device connected to the electronic device through the serial ATA bus (S1, S2). When it is determined impossible to transmit immediately the data which should be transmitted and it is also predicted that the data concerned cannot be prepared in a period of time defined beforehand, the electronic device switches the serial ATA bus from a non-power save mode to a power save mode which is determined beforehand (S5).
