SNAP TAP AND ATTACHING METHOD OF SNAP TAP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap tap excellent in durability and sealability at an attachment portion of the snap tap, the snap tap having such versatility that it can be applied to a pipe of metal or synthetic resin easily without requiring high processing accuracy, and being excellent in installation facility and economical efficiency since the process of attaching the snap tap to a piping section can be performed efficiently.

SOLUTION: The snap tap 10 comprises: (a) a snap tap main body 11 including a branch pipe connecting portion 11c through which a branch pipe is screwedly connected to the side portion of a water passage hole 11b vertically extending through the snap tap main body; (b) an enlarged-diameter metallic conduit 12 having a lower end portion inserted through an attachment hole portion of the piping section T where the snap tap main body 11 is attached, the top end of the metallic conduit 12 being curled to enlarge the diameter to thereby secure the snap tap main body 11 to the piping section T; (c) a seal packing member 13 made of elastic material attached to and retained by the lower portion of the snap tap main body 11; and (d) a piping support member 14 made of metal or synthetic resin which is formed in a substantially divided cylindrical shape so that it fits the peripheral wall surface of the piping section T.
