<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear light emitting device which indicates a variety of a flow of light and is high in decoration effect. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of LED lamps are linearly arranged, each incorporating first LEDs of a first luminescent color and second LEDs of a second luminescent color. First shift registers to which the respective first LEDs are connected, and second shift registers to which the respective second LEDs are connected, are provided. The first shift registers process a first clock signal and a first data signal which are input to the registers and control luminescent states of the respective first LEDs.
