PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a discharge tube which can suppress fluctuation rate of a discharge starting voltage when used under a high temperature environment in a discharge tube in which a film is formed on the surface of a discharge electrode by coating a solution in which potassium iodide is added in a binder composed of sodium silicate solution and pure water. SOLUTION: This is the discharge tube in which an airtight housing 16 is formed by sealing airtight the aperture at both ends of a case member 12 by a pair of lid members 14, 14 working as a discharge electrode, a discharge gas is filled in the airtight housing 16, a discharge spacing 22 is formed between the discharge electrodes of the lid members 14, 14, trigger discharge film 28 of which both ends are arranged having a minute discharge spacing 26 between the lid members 14, 14 is formed at the inner wall 24 of the case member 12, and furthermore a film 30 in which potassium iodide is added in a binder composed of sodium silicate solution and pure water and coated, and potassium iodide is contained is formed on the surface of the discharge electrode part 18.
