PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-base paint composition with its coating film excellent in rejecting stains and suitable for use as a coating for interior finish. SOLUTION: The water-base paint composition includes 100 pts.wt. of the solid component of a synthetic resin emulsion, and, relative to this, 0.01-10 pts.wt. of an alkali metal siliconate and 100-4,000 pts.wt. of several kinds of fillers. At least one kind of the fillers comprises spherical particles which have an average particle diameter of 5-200μm and account for≥3 vol.% of the solid component of the paint. The synthetic resin emulsion is preferably a multilayer type synthetic resin emulsion or a crosslinking type synthetic resin emulsion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
