PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester which retains color tones, transparency and thermal stability, has a fast polycondensation rate, contains a few foreign matters derived from a polycondensation catalyst and satisfies both qualities and economical efficiency by using a polycondensation catalyst comprising metal components mainly composed of metal components other than antimony, germanium and titanium, a polyester product and a manufacturing method of the polyester. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the polyester in the presence of the polyester polycondensation catalyst comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of aluminum compounds and at least one selected from phosphorous compounds, an aluminum compound whose aqueous solution has an absorbance of at most 0.0132 as measured by a specific method is employed as the aluminum compound.
