PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standard volume pipe capable of shortening the longitudinal dimension. SOLUTION: The standard volume pipe 10 being a bidirectional prover is provided with two detectors 14a and 14b in a prover pipe 12 and pipe parts 16a and 16b are provided at both ends. At each position of the pipe parts 16a and 16b close to the detectors 14a and 14b, gates 20a and 20b and waiting means 18a and 18b constituted of oil cylinders 22a and 22b are provided. When a sphere 24 is positioned at the pipe part 16b, the gate 20b of the waiting means 18b provided in between the sphere 24 and the detector 14b projects in the pipe part 16b so that the sphere 24 having moved toward the detector 14b from the pipe part 16b is hooked by the waiting means 18b and disturbed of the motion toward the detector 14b direction to be waiting state at the position, until the velocity of fluid reaches a specific value.
