<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonradioactive dielectric line for connection to a waveguide with a stable characteristic and ease of manufacture wherein a transmission loss of a high frequency signal at a connection part to the waveguide is small. <P>SOLUTION: The nonradioactive dielectric line H1 is configured such that a dielectric line 3 is located between conductor plates 1, 2 arranged in parallel at an interval of 1/2 of a wavelength of a millimeter wave signal or below and a through-hole 1a whose opening sizes differ between a front side and a rear side of the conductor plate 1 is formed to the conductor plate 1 at a position at which an electric field of a standing wave in the LSM mode of the dielectric line 3 is strong. Since the through-hole 1a smoothly changes the electromagnetic field of the high frequency signal passing through the through-hole 1a while the high frequency signal passes through the through-hole 1a, a transmission loss of the high frequency signal at a connection part with the waveguide having an open termination part with various shapes connected to the through-hole 1a is decreased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
