PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve gear and a liquid jet apparatus which can be made compact. SOLUTION: The valve gear 1 is equipped with a pressure reducing valve 5 for reducing the pressure of a liquid in a pressure chamber 4 which communicates with a liquid inlet 2 and a liquid outlet 3 and stores the liquid to a predetermined pressure. The pressure reducing valve 5 has a passage forming member 8 with a rectangular groove-like passage 7 which communicates with the liquid inlet 2 and the liquid outlet 3, a valve body 9, a spring for pressure adjustment 10, an operation lever 11 for pressing the valve body 9 to the opening valve position side against an urging force of the spring 10, and a film member 6 which forms the pressure chamber 4 by sealing the groove-like passage 7. The pressure reducing valve 5 is designed so that the film member 6 is elastically deformed inward of the pressure chamber 4 when the pressure of the pressure chamber 4 becomes a negative pressure, and the operation lever 11 presses the valve body 9 to the opening valve position side by an acting force of a multiplied pressing force at the time when the film member 6 is elastically deformed.
