PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile station apparatus in which a standby operation can be continued as much as possible, and consequently convenience is improved. SOLUTION: In the mobile station apparatus, first reference strength is acquired from a base station side, second reference strength is generated, and a call termination standby operation is maintained by continuing communication with a base station under the communication at present until the strength information of signals arriving from the base station under the communication at present becomes below the second reference strength in the case that there is no other base station for which the strength information of the signals arriving from the base station exceeds the first reference strength when the strength information of the signals arriving from the base station under the communication at present becomes lower than the first reference strength.
