PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detector capable of obtaining an output proportional to the angle of rotation of a rotor and suppressing manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The rotation angle detector 1 comprises magnets 22 and 23, a GMR sensor 30 which is provided in a position facing the magnets 22 and 23 and detects the intensity of the magnetic field caused by the magnets 22 and 23, a slit 17 and a pin 25 for relatively moving the magnets 22 and 23 and the GMR sensor 30 in proportion to the rotation angle of a rotor 15 to the rotation axis direction of the rotor 15.
