PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a header tank of a high pressure-resistant heat exchanger applying a carbon dioxide as a cooling medium. SOLUTION: This header tank comprises an upper plate 11 having a plurality of embossed parts 21 formed on specific positions and a lower plate 12 having a plurality of embossed parts 22 formed on the same specific positions, as tank components composed of plate materials, and the embossed parts 21, 22 of the upper and lower plates are faced to each other and joined to form refrigerant flow channels 13, 16 in spaces partitioned by the embossed parts 21, 22.
