PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cooling load in a room, and to secure illuminance at a living point in a habitable room space. SOLUTION: This screen device for a window is equipped with: a shading screen 4 which is arranged so as to be ascendable and descendable inside a window opening 1a of a building forming the habitable room space 1 and which has prescribed translucent performance; a screen driving means for making the shading screen 4 ascend/descend; a solar radiation sensor 7 installed at a point where the quantity of radiated light intruding into the space 1 from the window opening 1a can be detected in the space 1; an illuminance sensor 9 which is installed at the living point in the space 1; and a control means 11 which can perform the control of the drive of the screen driving means, and at least the control of the lighting of a luminaire 10 installed in the space 1 in accordance with the quantity of the light detected by the solar radiation sensor 7 and the illuminance detected by the illuminance sensor 9.
