<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition which has well-balanced mechanical strengths, heat resistance, electrical properties (withstand voltage and insulation resistance), flame retardancy and weather resistance, and therefore can be suitably used, for example, as an insulating coating material or a sheathing material for a lead line of an illumination device to be installed indoor or outdoors. <P>SOLUTION: The weather-resistant flame-retardant resin composition comprises 100 pts. wt. of a base polymer, 80-150 pts. wt. of a metal hydrate, 0.2-10 pts. wt. of a high-molecular weight hindered amine light stabilizer, 0.2-10 pts. wt. of a low-molecular weight hindered amine light stabilizer, and 0.1-1 pt. wt. of an ultraviolet absorber, wherein the base polymer is mainly composed of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content of 15-41%.
