PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the reconnection is not quickly established by switching over radiation patterns of radio waves, if a mobile communication base station having an adaptive array antenna loses synchronization with a mobile station. SOLUTION: Not changing a radiation pattern every superframe (e.g., 1.2 sec period) using a control channel, but the radiation pattern F is changed in a period accordant with frames (e.g. 5 mS) contained in a speech channel. The beam is formed with decreasing the transmission output P e.g. every one frame. This avoids continuously giving influences of a beam searching for a lost mobile station on the communication with other mobile stations connected to the base station. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
