摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that has an excellent dielectric strength property to resist a discharge, prevents the distruction, deterioration of an electron discharge element and a phosphor, and the distruction of a circuit, and also has a higher reliability. SOLUTION: A first substrate 10 on which a phosphor and a metal-back layer 17 are formed, and a second substrate 12 on which a plurality of electron-emitting sources 18 are provided, are arranged in an opposed relationship to each other. There is provided a spacer structure 22 for supporting atmospheric pressure load acting on the first and second substrates. The spacer structure has a first and a second spacer support plates 24, 25 that are placed between the first and second substrates, respectively, and have a plurality of electron beam holes 26, 27, a plurality of spacers 30 sandwiched between the first and the second spacer support plates and having insulation properties, respectively, and electric conductors 33 provided between the ends of the second support plates side of the spacers and the second support plates, respectively.
