PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonionic associative thickener containing a condensation polymer main chain. SOLUTION: A nonionic associative thickener containing a condensation polymer main chain and at least two pendant polymeric chains attached to the nonionic water-soluble main chain is provided. The pendant polymeric chains have terminal chain segments containing polyoxyalkylene units comprising 3 to 6 carbon atoms.
