The present invention relates to novel heterocyclic compounds, according to Formula I, that stimulate endogenous production and/or release of growth hormone, wherein R<SUB>1</SUB>, R<SUB>2</SUB>, R<SUB>3</SUB>, R<SUB>4 </SUB>and X are defined herein. Further, the present invention relates to methods for using such compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds.
