<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment ink having preservation stability and reliability and good gradation and fixabilty of colors and improved in water resistance of images and provide a method and an apparatus for ink jet recording using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: The ink is prepared by using a self dispersion type pigment as the colorant, a water-based medium and at least a compound containing anionic and cationic groups and forming a salt with the pigment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
