PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit solving the ringing phenomenon, using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A driver circuit for a semiconductor laser, making the semiconductor laser emit light in response to the input of a driving signal at a specified level, is used as the driver circuit for the semiconductor laser. The driver circuit for the semiconductor laser is provided with a photodetector detecting the output of laser beams emitted from the semiconductor laser, and a control circuit adjusting the level of the driving signal so as to eliminate the ringing phenomenon, generated at at least one of the start of the emission of the laser and the end of the emission, on the basis of the actual intensities of the laser beams detected by the photodetector.
