PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable display device whose operability is improved by constituting the display device such that an operation part does not change its direction even when the direction of a display part is changed depending upon whether a display image is longitudinally long or laterally long. SOLUTION: The portable display device has a display member 1 equipped with a rectangular liquid crystal panel 2 (display part) and a body member 4 equipped with the operation part 3 for operating the liquid crystal display panel 2( display part), and the display member 1 is provided rotatably to the body member 4 so that the direction of the liquid crystal panel 2 (display part) to the operation part 3 is changed.
