PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cargo handling method for easily transporting construction materials in the construction field without depending on manpower, and to provide a cargo handling device implementing the method. SOLUTION: According to the cargo handling method, a rail 4 is borne at a location above an upper flange 2 of a steel girder 1 which is arranged as a structural member, and the construction materials are transported via the rail as a transportation passage.
