PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new deodorant composition having a deodorant system more efficacious when compared with such cases that an antiperspirant salt and zinc gluconate are separately used from each other, to provide a product form of the same, and to provide a method for using the same. SOLUTION: This deodorant cosmetic composition contains (a) the zinc gluconate and (b) at least one antiperspirant aluminum salt, wherein a weight ratio of the zinc gluconate to the aluminum salt is in a range of 1/100 to 10/1. The composition is provided in the form of an aerosol spray, a pump-type dispenser bottle, a roll-on, a tube, a stick, or the like. A cosmetic method comprises treating human perspiration and human underarm odors by applying an effective amount of this composition to the underarm pits. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
