PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door beam which can stably deform the cross section shape without generating breakage even at short beam length and can simultaneously provide a required maximum load and energy absorption without increasing the weight. SOLUTION: The door beam material has the shape of the cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction where a compression side flange 1 and a tension side flange 2 are interconnected through a pair of webs 3 and 4, the spindle (e) in the cross section (of two spindles passing through the center of gravity, the spindle where angleθwith respect to the direction perpendicular to the outer surface of the tension side flange 2 is smaller) has an inclination of 5°-25°with respect to the direction perpendicular to the outer surface of the tension side flange 2. Thus, when a bending load P is charged, the beam cross section is apt to buckle and deform like being crushed, and the load on the tension side flange 2 side can be moderated before distortion is accumulated on the tension side to cause breakage.
