PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type massage machine capable of providing effective acupressure massage on the waist region of a patient without requiring the patient to be re-seated. SOLUTION: The massage machine comprises a backrest part 3 mounted on one side surface of a seat part 2 on which the patient 1 is seated and a massage unit 5 with massage fingers 4 movable in the vertical direction of the backrest part 3, projecting from the backrest part 3. When the waist region of the patient 1 is massaged with the massage fingers 4, the body of the patient 1 is held by a waist position holding means 54 for preventing the waist of the patient 1 from moving to the front of the seat part 2.
