<p>A simplified design for a locking castor wheel, e.g. for a trolley, has the wheel mounting (22) attached to the covering cowl (20) by flexible struts. The inner moulding includes a support ring (25) for the steering brake. The castor brake comprises a pedal (100) mounted in a slot (24) in the cowl and operating on a brake band (30) under which is secured a brake lining (33) for the main wheel (60) and a brake profile (13, 32) to lock into a gear wheel (12) at the bottom of the steering shaft.</p> |
