<p>A method of aluminum wheel surface treatment by which an alkali substance adherent to the aluminum surface and problematic in a non-chromate treatment is removed without damaging the aluminum material to thereby improve adhesion to the aluminum base. Also provided are: a method of aluminum wheel surface treatment which, when conducted as a pretreatment for non-chromate coating, can impart the same corrosion resistance as that obtained with a treatment with a chromic acid/chromate containing hexavalent chromium; and a method of aluminum wheel surface treatment which exerts no adverse influences on the health of the worker and the natural environment and can remove a coating without damaging the surface of the aluminum material. The methods of aluminum wheel surface treatment comprise a blasting step in which a blasting material is blown against the aluminum wheel surface. As the blasting material is used a plastic blasting material which comprises a thermoplastic resin as the main component and has a particle diameter of 100 to 2,000 mum.</p> |
