<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain partial deterioration of the fixability of a toner image on paper and excessive heating even in the event that the distribution of the energy of light emitted by a flash lamp becomes axially nonuniform due to the increase of time for which light is emitted. <P>SOLUTION: In a flash fixing part 30, a light correction member 42 is supported so as to face a reflector 36 while a continuous paper 12 with a toner image formed thereon is located between the member 42 and the reflector 36. Additionally, the distribution of the reflectance of the flash light of the light correction member 32 can be altered in the axial direction. Thus, light is emitted from the flash lamp 32 to the continuous paper 12, and part of the flash light transmitted through the continuous paper 12 is reflected by the light correction member 42 and can be made incident on the paper again. In addition, the axial distribution of the quantity of flash light made incident on the continuous paper 12 again from the light correction member 42 can be adjusted to a desired distribution by adjusting the positions of a pair of high reflective plates 46 in the axial direction, thereby suitably adjusting the distribution of the reflectance of the light correction member 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
