<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type hot water supplier capable of securely detecting an abnormal state such as dry-boiling, in the heat pump type hot water supplier equipped with a liquid-gas heat exchanger for preventing wet compression of a compressor and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The heat pump type hot water supplier is equipped with a heat pump unit 4 in which the compressor 13, a water-gas heat exchanger 14, a pressure reducing mechanism 15 and an air heat exchanger 16 are sequentially connected. Boiling operation for supplying not-heated water to a heat exchange route 11 consisting of the water-gas heat exchanger 14 is enabled. The liquid-gas heat exchanger 25 is provided for heat-exchange between high pressure refrigerant flowing out from the liquid-gas heat exchanger 14 and flowing into the pressure reducing mechanism 15 and low pressure refrigerant flowing out from the air heat exchanger 16.
