FLOW VELOCITY MEASURING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow velocity measuring apparatus for highly accurately measuring flow velocities by removing the effects of oscillations of a location at which an antenna is fixed and of ripples in a water surface. SOLUTION: The flow velocity measuring apparatus is provided with the antenna for irradiating measuring waves of a prescribed frequency to the water surface to be measured and receiving reflected waves of the measuring waves from the water surface; a Doppler signal detecting means for supplying the antenna with a measurement signal for generating the measuring waves, capturing a reflection signal outputted by the antenna at reception of the reflected waves, and detecting a Doppler signal on the basis of the reflection signal and the measurement signal; and a signal processing means for removing the effects of oscillations of the antenna contained in the Doppler signal by applying prescribed signal processing to the Doppler signal on the basis of a prescribed operational program and computing the flow velocity of the water surface.
