PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which keeps a surface of an evaporator in a wet state with condensed water with a simple structure to reliably avoid a completely dry state, thereby enabling the inhibition of the occurrence of odors. SOLUTION: The air conditioner has a center part temperature sensor 20 arranged at the upstream side from an outlet side end of an air duct of an evaporator to detect the temperature of the middle part of the evaporator, a temperature change detecting means which detects a change of the temperature rising from a stable state of the temperature in the middle part of the evaporator, and a temperature controlling means which reduces the temperature of the evaporator 5 in the case where the temperature change detecting means detects a change of the temperature rising from the stable state of the temperature in the middle part of the evaporator 5. Even if time lag occurs before the reduction in temperature of the evaporator 5, the temperature of the evaporator 5 is reduced before the evaporator 5, at the outlet side, evaporates completely to reliably keep the surface of the evaporator in a wet state with condensed water.
