METHOD FOR CUTTING PLATE-SHAPED FRAGILE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a plate-shaped fragile material by locally heating the same along the cutting scheduled line from the edge of the cutting start end part thereof to the cutting terminal part thereof and succeedingly cooling the locally heated part locally without leaving a cutting impossible part in the cutting terminal part.

SOLUTION: In the method for cutting the plate-shaped fragile material G by continuously locally heating the same along the cutting scheduled line L from the edge of the cutting start end part A thereof to the edge of the cutting terminal part B thereof from one side surface thereof to subsequently cool the locally heated part, notches (a) and (b) for cutting the cutting terminal part of the plate-shaped fragile material are preformed to one side surface or edge side surface thereof on the cutting scheduled line L of the plate-shaped fragile material G at the cutting terminal part B and/or the cutting terminal part B is cut while heating the other side surface of the plate-shaped fragile material or the plate-shaped fragile material is cut in a state that a cutting notch line is preformed to the other side surface of the plate-shaped fragile material G over the total length of the cutting scheduled line L on the cutting scheduled line L of the plate-shaped fragile material G.
