<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-walled container, which is made light in weight but is given necessary strength and stability at its waist to prevent a dent or deformation of the waist. <P>SOLUTION: The bottle container 1 has the waist 6, which is of a laterally formed groove shape, in the longitudinal intermediate part of the trunk 4 of the container 1. The waist 6 has a vertical surface 61, which is the bottom of the groove, and slopes 62, 63 at the upside and underside of the vertical surface 61.
