<p>Polyphenylene oxides are stabilized by incorporating therein from 0.1 to 6% by weight of an organic phosphite, an organic thiophosphite, a hydrazine, benzoic anhydride or a mixture of two or more of these compounds. In examples poly - (2,6 - dimethyl - 1,4 - phenylene) - oxides are stabilized with one or more of the compounds trilauryl phosphite, trioctadecyl phosphite, triethylene diphosphite, phenylneopentyl phosphite, tridecyl phosphite, phenyldidecyl phosphite, tetra(diphenylphosphite)-pentaerythritol, N,N1 - diacetylhydrazine, dibenzoylhydrazine, acetylphenylhydrazine, anhydrous hydrazine, and benzoic anhydride. Other compounds mentioned are trichloroethyl phosphite, dilauryl phosphite, trilauryltrithiophosphite, phenylhydrazine, diphenylhydrazine, N,N1 - benzylphenylhydrazine, N - methyl - N - phenylhydrazine, N,N-dimethylhydrazine.</p> |
