摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Illumination structure having multiple light sources with a projection system having a small volume, high optical coupling efficiency and less aberrations. SOLUTION: The illumination structure has first, second, third integration rods 41, 43, and 45, first and second light sources 47a and 47b. The second integration rod 43 having a light incident surface, a light outgoing surface and a light reflection surface, is placed along the first integration rod 41. The light incident surface is parallel to the second integration rod 43, forming an angle between the light incident surface and light reflection surface. The first light source 47a is vertically placed with respect to the second light source 47b. The light emitted from the first light source 47a is focused to the light incident surface of the first integration rod 41. The light emitted from the second light source 47b is made incident to the light incident surface of the second integration rod 43, and then reflected by the light reflection surface.
