PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of increasing kinds of display contents with simple constitution. SOLUTION: In a display area R1 set on one surface of a light guide plate 21, square frames A1 to A3 and character strings A4 to A5 are formed as display contents by applying blue paint as reflecting elements reflecting blue light to the other surface side and triangles B1 and B2 and dotted lines B3 and B4 are formed as display contents by applying red paint as reflecting elements reflecting red light to the other surface side, thus constituting the display panel 2. A plurality of light emitting diodes BD1 and BD2, and RD1 and RD2 which emit light beams of the same colors as the colors of the reflecting elements forming the display contents are arranged nearby end surfaces of the light guide plate 21 constituting the display panel 2, thus constituting the display device 1. The blue or red light emitting diodes are turned on and then the display contents formed of the reflecting elements reflecting the lights of the colors from the illuminating light emitting diodes are displayed with the color light beams.
