PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact ice maker for making irregular ice such as commercially available rock ice. SOLUTION: This ice maker 100 comprises an ice making part 300 with an opened upper face, which makes plate-like ice; a shaft 48 which is rotated to divide the plate-like ice to a plurality of pieces; and a driving mechanism 53 driving the ice making part 300. After ice making is completed, the ice making part 300 is reversely rotated, the shaft 48 is rotated to divide the plate-like ice to a plurality of pieces of rock ice, and the ice making part 300 is reversely rotated to provide irregular pieces of ice.
