PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition plug of an internal combustion engine excellent in combustion stability. SOLUTION: The ignition plug 1 of the internal combustion engine has an electrode member 4 which is held inside a metal housing 2 through insulators 8, 9 and 10 and has a center electrode 6 formed at a tip, and an outer electrode 5 grounded and held on the housing and ignites mixture in a cylinder by discharging between the center electrode 6 and the outer electrode 5 and generating a spark. It varies a thermal value according to warm-up condition of the internal combustion engine so that the thermal value of the ignition plug is lowered when the engine is cold and the thermal value of the ignition plug is raised after the engine is warmed up.
